Here are some works I particularly like.

Liam Everett – Untitled (Kindu), 2015 – Acrylic, enamel, alcohol, and salt on oil primed linen
What I find most interesting about the work of both Liam Everette and Nenad Bacanovic is the method they have used to create their work and the mixed media used. I love the collage of colour with light and dark elements, and the scratching effect adds interesting texture.

Things Falling Apart, James Usill, 2016
The combination of text and painted colour makes this work very appealing to me. The method of painting with dynamic stokes and the juxtaposing offree-moving strokes highlights the bold statement in the centre. I find the way this was created and the name of the piece fits hand in hand with making it a success. I also see how combining wording into art can make it bolder and stimulate more thoughts towards the work.

Julia Ribeiro – Squalid
Found wood
What draws me to this work is the media she painted onto. Using this segment of wood adds depth and texture to the final outcome. The fact that it is found wood adds a raw and manmade element to the piece, which I find very interesting.

Max Rippon,
designer, artist and typographer from Barcelona
The choice of material and font used for this piece really stands out due to the varying of size, its connection with its meaning, and the choices of colour and design.
